Reforms in science: A seminar-discussion was held at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology
A seminar-discussion was held at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology on March 3. The event was held on the initiative of the General Director of the Institute, Doctor of philosophical sciences, Professor Ilham Mammadzadeh. At the same time Doctor of philosophical sciences, prof. Ali Abasov, Doctor of philosophical sciences, prof. Abulhasan Abbasov, Doctor of philosophical sciences Fuzuli Gurbanov and Doctor of philosophical sciences Arif Bunyadov took part. The topic of discussion was related to the philosophical explanation of the methods and mechanisms of reform in science in general and the preparation of a new collective monograph on its background.
General Director of the Institute I. Mammadzadeh expressed the general statement of the issue. He noted that reforms are now being carried out successfully throughout the country, including in the field of science. In this process, philosophers must participate in a way that is truly effective. In particular, we must implement new mechanisms and approaches in this direction at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology. To do this, philosophers must take a critical look at their activities, that is, we must analyze the reforms in the context of our own experience and application. The mentality of scientists, their connection and participation in the cognitive sciences should be at the forefront of this work.
Topics that can really benefit the Azerbaijani society and state should be selected, their relevance should be justified in the context of world philosophy, and after such training, works and electronic laboratories should be developed. This can be done individually, through scientific seminars at the institute.
Continuing his words, the Director General noted that today we can discuss this issue, come to a certain conclusion and bring it to the attention of the staff of the institute as a whole. The project we now have is to develop a collective work on artificial intelligence, Lutfuzade's fuzzy logic, and socio-cultural and scientific modernization in general. Who has a proposal in the direction I have highlighted?
Doctor of philosophical sciences, Prof. A. Abbasov discussed the draft version of his project on collective work. He stressed that we need to approach the problem in a broader sense and build work on the application side. This means studying the problems of scientific cognition that are also relevant to modern philosophy.
Professor Ali Abasov suggested that it would be more effective to write monographs by making a video analysis of the topics previously discussed at the institute's seminar and making some corrections. We can achieve higher quality by inviting and listening to influential scientists from outside.
The moderator of the scientific seminar of the Institute, Doctor of philosophical sciences Fuzuli Gurbanov said that there would be some technical difficulties. Because there must be a procedure for copying video information on paper, for which a special group is needed. No scientist who has to write a monograph will be able to do this. Professor A.Abbasov supported this idea and suggested that it would be more useful for the authors to prepare their texts without a seminar.
After listening carefully to the views, General Director Ilham Mammadzadeh offered to return to it. Arif Bunyadov took the floor and presented his draft version. He noted that the title of the book "Features of the application of artificial intelligence technologies in the study of the context of socio-cultural modernization in Azerbaijan" is more appropriate. In this regard, A. Bunyadov announced the structure of the book included in the project.
At the end of the exchange of views, it was decided to discuss this issue again.
