Samira Dadashova, was on a research visit at the University of Tartu, Estonia


The Lead Researcher of the Department of Ethics at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of ANAS, PhD in Philosophy Samira Dadashova, was on a research visit at the University of Tartu, located in Tartu, Estonia, from September 7 to October 7, 2026. The academic trip was carried out with the support of the scholarship programme of the Estonian Education and Youth Board.

The main objectives of the research visit were to become acquainted with contemporary research and teaching approaches in the fields of philosophy and ethics at the University of Tartu, learn new teaching methods, participate in academic seminars and discussions, and expand knowledge of artificial intelligence, research ethics, and contemporary ethical issues. As part of the research visit, S. Dadashova participated in the following training sessions, seminars, and academic events:

“Research Ethics Training in Arts and Humanities”;

“The Societal Impact of Research”;

“Competence Day: AI, University Skills, Responsibility and Critical Choices”;

As part of the “AI-teh Seminars,” the seminar entitled “Aligned to Whom? Evaluating AI Across Languages and Cultures,” among others.

Within the framework of these events, contemporary approaches concerning artificial intelligence and ethics, research ethics, academic responsibility, the societal impact of scientific research, and the interaction between education and technology were studied. It is envisaged that the experience gained during the research visit will be applied to teaching and research activities in the fields of philosophy and ethics in Azerbaijan. In particular, plans include developing new teaching materials on AI ethics, research ethics, academic integrity, technology and responsibility.
